Lightpainting

This barn is 100 years old and is a part of Jackson Hole history.  This shot was taken in September 2013 during a photography class about light painting.  The object is to go out at night and use lights to pick out and make visible whatever you choose as a subject.  You can light all or part of it.  In this case someone else was running around in the dark shining a very high powered spotlight on the barn and the ground and tree and I was standing behind the camera with the shutter held open for about 30 seconds.  I was captivated by the presence of the big dipper above the barn. The light strip in the mid right is traffic on the road.
